Quarantine Magazine

to all of my fellow creatives out there suffering from lack of inspiration and constant restlessness, you are not alone. I too miss the daily adventures of people watching, gazing at nature’s beauty and trips to the latest art exhibits, but since the mandatory lockdown, my brain has been a mishmash of pent up anxiety and doubt. How did I get out of my rut you ask? Well i didn’t, but I did find a way to control my nervous ticks and creative blockage by drafting my own quarantine magazine. It’s A brilliant way to reuse, recycle and reduce waste by taking old magazines and collaging them into new spreads, giving these once loved magazines a new life. It has been cathartic to go through old memory boxes and junk drawers, looking for mediums to use in new and innovative ways. I have utilized dried flowers. forgotten postcards and expiring paint, pieces that usually take up space can now be turned into art. It is a great way to be resourceful and productive, while also expressing pent up creative energy that needs to be released.
