Are You Ready to Ruffle?!?!
Aloha ladies (and maybe gents?) In honor of fashion week I decided to publish my first of many fashion posts that will be sporadically surfacing my blog. I must admit that I am completely, perfectly, and incandescently happy with this first post, yes I just quoted Pride and Prejudice. This outfit made me feel like a pastel salsa dancer, full of attitude and spice. I am very much a believer that fashion is the best social armor you can acquire, other than sarcasm. I may be bias, since I am an Apparel Design major, but a perfectly styled outfit that takes into consideration color, silhouette and fit can make anyone feel like a million bucks. Although I want to be believe I am a fashion connoisseur, who has Vogue bookmarked on her Google Chrome, I believe following the trends is important. Although it looks like all I do is travel, I do have other hobbies that I haven't been able to share lately, one of them being styling. For the last four years I have attended the Fashion Institute of Technology, interned for cream-of-the-crop stylists, and created an entire senior collection that I designed, sewed and styled myself. So you could say that not only do I love fashion, it has dictated my life for the last couple of years. Am I mad about it, hell nah. I believe fashion is one of the purest forms of art that should never be questioned. It is diverse, cultural, accepting and beautiful all rolled into one.
For this first post I decided to focus on pastel tones, ruffles and pattern. However, I am a little late on posting this bad boy due to midterms and life, but i swear this outfit is still gracing all of the stores and runways near you. the Ruffles trend is in full-force this season, so why not wear them on every piece of clothing? I am a huge supporter of the bold ruffle look. I am not a huge fan of jewelry, so compromising with strategically placed ruffles is a win. (ruffles: 1 Anna: 1) As for where i purchased these puppies, well, it's all over the place. The basketweave purse is from a local vintage market, the shirt is from H&m, the skirt is from Nordstrom, the hoops are from J-crew, and the cheetah print loafers are from sam edelman. Now, I would like to take a moment of silence for these cheetah print loafers............................................................................. I am obsessed. I am all about comfort, a good animal print, and loafers in general, so these shoes have not left my feet since I purchased them, two months ago. I am an old woman in that way. Now please keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times, and enjoy the ride (by that I mean the pictures below)
