Beachy Keen
This past weekend I celebrated my 23rd birthday by spending time with my fam, devouring loads of carbs, and walking the beach during sunset. You could say I am a pretty happy, blessed and twenty pounds heavier women. But, now that I am older and wiser (cue laughter), I feel as though my wardrobe needs a facelift. I don't know about you guys, but I am over the fast-fashion, one-wash, cheap fabric montage that is the college years. I want pieces that are timeless and versatile, pieces that will last longer than Trump's presidency, if ya know what I mean. Although choosing pieces that are better quality will cost more, it's a sacrifice I am willing to make. Mostly because I actually have money from Christmas, graduation, and my birthday......
If this was Youtube I would make an outfit haul, but I don't preferably like to Vlog nor do I have the energy. I am more of a classic photography buff who likes to style each look individually, so stay tuned for more looks coming soon. This week I am showcasing my new favorite shift star dress from Madewell that I am obsessed with. It's simple, comfortable and sleek. A piece that will never go out of style. I decided to pair it with a chic leather jacket and knee-high suede boots. The weather actually permitted me to dress like a normal human instead of an Eskimo in the midst of a blizzard for the first time in weeks. For the accessories, I went with gold-plated pieces that matched the rims of my Rayban sunnies and a cobalt blue satchel for a pop of color. I am big on matching metals, so wearing my mom's vintage gold triangle earrings, with a modern gold linked bracelet was the perfect touch to a busy dress. I am all about mixing textures, so when wearing an all black ensemble it adds a touch of spontaneity, developing the tamed nature of the trusty monochromatic look.
