VEEP VEEP have a good time
This past weekend I traveled to Washington, D.C. to visit my childhood best friend at her new home-away-from-home. I finally understand what it feels like to be Julia Louis-Dreyfus, aka Selina Meyer, the charismatic, blunt Vice president of the hbo series, veep. Not really, but i did take the metro, scootered around the famous neoclassical monuments, and got an official library card from the library of congress. so, who's winning? Still her, but it was a culturally invigorating weekend with my best friends. Not only did i geek out at the national gallery of art and strolled around our nation's capital, i was honored to attend the #marchforourlives rally where i witnessed, for 6 hours, like-minded, diverse individuals that believe in a cause bigger than ourselves. although it was incredible to see miley cyrus, demi lovato and jennifer hudson perform, i was more excited to hear the speeches of the gun violence prevention advocates; delaney Tarr, Emma González, and 11-year-old Naomi Wadler. All the youths that spoke at the march were empowering and brave, I am extremely inspired by their courage and hutzpah for creating awareness and taking action to stop the epidemic of mass shootings. disregarding race, sexuality, and ethnicity, this band of rebel students have initiated a much needed revolution. It's time to send our politicians a message to create a 'timely passage of legislation' to address the issue of gun violence that is running rampant in our country. let us join together and end the fear of violence and mass shootings.
