Tis' The Season
Mele Kalikimaka my friends! (aka Merry Christmas) and a Happy (almost) New Year! I am sorry for the delayed blog post, but I have been swamped the past few weeks with finals, work and moving out of my apartment. But man, What a whirl-wind 2017 has been, I graduated from Purdue, got an 'A' in accounting (sigh of relief), created a blog, traveled around the U.S., and got bangs (read carefully). I know what you're thinking, the only true achievement in the last sentence was graduating from purdue, which you are right, but it has been a great year! Although I am not super gung-ho about new years resolutions, I am going to list mine so everyone can read the goals i will probably forget; I want to travel abroad, eat healthy, find my dream job, do more random acts of kindness, and clean out my closet. Now that I am part of the 'real' world, whatever that means (apparently everyone under the age of 23 lives in a fake world) I can't wait to experience what life has to throw at me. I am ready to turn 23 and take on more responsibility, but also still participate in shenanigans. Like my dear friend George Bernard Shaw once said "you don't stop laughing when you grow old, you grow old when you stop laughing". You can say that again Mr. Shaw. But, now onto the more important portion of my rant, the fashion part.
Glitter, ,metallic, sequins oh my! It's that time of year again my friends, when you can wear all the glitz and glam you want just because. I am not really a flashy dresser per say, but give me some hints of velvet, sequins and texture and i'm your girl. This holiday season I decided to take my new duster coat for a spin. The navy blue hue and velvet pockets are the perfect pair for the winter festivities you are going to attend. you won't just show up, you will Arrive in style, well at least for the party-goers who respect fashion. I decided to pair my coat with a midi-length pleated silk forest green skirt and navy constellation sweater to add some flair underneath a simpler-looking jacket. I decided to top it off with Rebecca minkoff Constellation booties (yes, I love outer space) and synch the waist with a studded leather belt. I was comfortable and warm, while feeling fab in the winter chill.
