Dear Friends,
I wanted to write a Thank you letter expressing my absolute gratitude for anyone and everyone who has supported me and has read my blog. I initially started this blog to showcase my styling skills, but it has blossomed into a safe space where I can ultimately blab, journal and record my experiences. I honestly wanted a medium where I have full creative control, where I could illustrate my passion for photography, creative writing, and styling. I didn't create this blog to gain more followers or have an archive of 'instagramable' photos, but to publish posts that I am proud of. It has been a rough couple of months looking for a job, but luckily i found an outlet where I can both promote my personal brand and let off some steam. I have always been a kid who needs art in her life and I believe blogging is the perfect alternative to my dream job of being a creative director. I have always been 'the intern' and now I can finally be in charge of planning, allocating, and developing my own shoots. Although I am not the biggest fan of always being the model, eventually i hope to travel more and photograph my friends. I love capturing the smile lines, creases and ultimately my friends stories on film. I eventually hope to showcase more of my friends accomplishments and do more spotlight pieces on my hero's. I love styling and making people feel beautiful in their own skin, and that's what I plan on doing. I truly appreciate all of the support, love, and encouragement these last couple of months! I am truly blessed.
Sincerely,
Anna Thetard
Hello again! This is just a small blurb about the inspiration for this shoot. i wanted to do a vintage shoot that showcased my new thrifted camera and satchel. Since they are both distressed leather. i thought dune grass would compliment the raw neutrality of the texture, design and hue of the props. I decided to add a Lightroom preset (#tezzabartonpresets) that gave the photos a muted, almost sepia-esque tone that highlighted the film-like essence of the shoot. The hat, shirt, and overalls are all from Free People, the store that gives me life. (lol, hire me, but not funny because it's true) The shoes are classic chuck taylor's from Converse, also known as 'limos for the feet'. I really wanted to create an ideal travel outfit, effortless and practical, that saluted the denim trend. Mission accomplished.
Overall, I must admit this is my favorite shoot thus far because I love the end result of the location, styling and images. Shoutout to my patient, talented dad for putting his photography skills to good use aka helping his daughter make her blog dreams come true.
